My passion for marketing was uncovered right after college. I was a young electromechanical designer working in my employer’s engineering department. One day I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the sales and marketing department (cue screech sound). Wait, what?
They said they wanted me on the team to contribute with my technical expertise. Additionally, they liked “my enthusiasm and follow-through.” It was certainly an unexpected fork in the road of my career. But knowing that I could always “fall back” to engineering, I accepted. That’s when I was drawn into the exciting marketing side of the business!

Nine years later I started at another manufacturing company and worked there for nearly three decades.
